:: wedding day

   the structure of a typical wedding day can be sectioned as below.  stylistic suggestions have been given for each section.  decisions can be made by you or your musician

1.  guests arrival (15-30 mins): acoustic violin, well known classical melodies

2. wedding ceremony (30-45 mins):

                                 entrance of the bride -           ‘here comes the bride’ - wagner

                                 signing of the register-           ‘canon in d’ -  pachelbel / ‘meditation’ - massenet

                                 exit of the bride and groom -  ‘wedding march’ - mendelssohn

3. wedding photos and drinks reception

(45mins-1½ hrs): acoustic violin,

unaccompanied jazz songs played from

memory walking among guests.

4. wedding breakfast (1½ -2 ½ hrs):

electric violin with backing though

a p.a. system, well-known pop songs

 and traditional standards

   it is usual to book a violinist to accompany any 2, 3 or 4 sections.  the above schedule includes the full variety of options available to you in terms of performance style and musical genre

:: session work

   by ear or written parts, music can be composed or read.  free melodic improvisation for pop, soul or blues.  solo violin, string quartet or small string sections can be provided for a studio session

:: parties and special occasions

   something different… a violinist walking among guests, serenading tables with an acoustic performance of well known and requested favourites.  or, create an atmosphere and enjoy an amplified performance of jazz and popular songs on electric violin

:: other ensembles

   an alternative to a solo performance

is the violin and accordion duo ‘gitane’

who capture the romantic atmosphere

of the 1930's parisian café
